| I. Brief Historical Background: |
Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo was founded by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and was licensed by the Federal Republic of Nigeria to operate as a Private University on 7th January 2005. It is located on the old site of St. Andrew’s College, Oyo. On 18th January 2006, the University started its operations with a student population of 306 based in the Faculties of Humanities and Social & Management Sciences. The following year, the number of the Faculties increased to three with the addition of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. |

The University is currently in its 4th academic session and has a total of 2,299 students. By our projection, the student population will increase to 3,300 in September 2010 and 4,500 in September 2011. Also, by the Academic Brief of the University, which had been approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) the following Faculties will be established in 2 to 10 years time: |
1. Environmental Studies;
2. Law; and
3. College of Medicine. |
| The University has an additional land area of 110 hectares on Ogbomoso Road for the purpose of future expansion. It is certain therefore, that Ajayi Crowther University is a rapidly growing concern that is both viable and profitable. |
| II Governance: |
As earlier mentioned, the University is owned by the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). At the apex of the structure of governance, therefore, is the Board of Proprietors made up of the Bishops of the owner Dioceses. There is a Board of Trustees in which the Board of Proprietors has vested the power to oversee the governance of the University. |

| From the foregoing it is obvious that the University has the good fortune of being owned and governed by a fantastic blend of seasoned University Administrators and Academics, top echelon of the Private Sector and the Clergy. |
| IV Fees Regime |
Currently the students pay between N300,000.00 and N350,000.00 (depending on each student’s area of specialization) including N120,000.00 accommodation fees. |
V Revenue Yielding Programmes |
The University runs some self-financing programmes which have become good sources of generating income for the University. These are: |
1. The Summer School;
2. Pre-Degree and Foundation Year Programme located at Ibadan; and
3. Professional Certification Training Programme in partnership with Good Faith Industries. |
The University from the above programmes was able to generate an income of N70–80 million in the past year. It intends to increase its drive to expand its revenue base in other areas to maintain a good cash flow year after year. |
