Ajayi Crowther University sets up committee to start Osoogun campus

Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, has set up a committee to oversee the resumption of activities in its Osoogun campus. The Committee, headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muyiwa Popoola, visited that campus recently. The nine-member committee and three other people in attendance were received by the head of the community, Chief Moses Olalere, and members of his cabinet. The community expressed joy, through their son, who is also an academic staff of the Ajayi Crowther University, Dr. J.O. Ojenike, that the University has decided to reactivate academic activities on the campus. The University had cited the campus in that community in honour of the renowned preacher and missionary, Ajayi Crowther, whom the University is named after. The Committee is saddled with the responsibility of making the campus active.

The Baale of the community, Chief Moses Olalere, welcomed the team and expressed gratitude that the University set up the high-powered team to ensure that the campus became active in the shortest possible time. Chairman of the Committee, Professor Muyiwa Popoola, told the Baale and his cabinet that the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo, is desirous of getting the campus active, which was why he set up the Committee. Shortly after addressing leaders of the community, Professor Popoola led the team to the campus where it inspected facilities on ground and brainstormed on immediate steps to revive the place. Some shortfalls in facilities were identified, and the team decided to report back to the Vice-Chancellor in order to rectify the situation. Dr. J.O. Ojenike, Head of the Department of Business Administration, and an indigene of the community assured the University that villagers would ensure that the University property on that campus would be safe, stating that the community knows the multiplier effect of having a University campus on their land.

The team later reported to the Vice-Chancellor on return from the Osoogun campus. He thanked them, especially the team leader, for a job well done. He told the Committee to quickly put a report to him for quick implementation.
