OYO CHAPTER OF GIDEONS INTERNATIONAL PLACES BIBLES IN TWO GUEST HOUSES IN AJAYI CROWTHER UNIVERSITY

The Oyo town chapter of Gideons International group visited Ajayi Crowther University two days ago. The group of business men, women and professionals who spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through placing Bibles in hotel rooms and guest houses, came to the campus to place Bibles in two guest houses on campus, namely Shepherds Inn and Bethel Inn. The group, led by their Oyo chapter President, Chief Abiola Ige, was received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Professor Jacob Adeniyi, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor Rt. Rev. Professor Dapo F. Asaju. During a brief ceremony at Shepherds Inn, the Registrar, Hon. Mrs. Adenike T. Fatogun, thanked the group for bringing Bibles to the guest houses. Thereafter Chief Ige told the audience that his was an international group which began operations since 1908 in the United States of America. It has now become a worldwide organization, and over two billion copies of the Bible has been distributed by the organization around the world.  In his remarks the Deputy Vice-Chancellor said their visit was apt, given that the University prides itself as one that raises godly intellectuals, a good reason the Bible ought to be seen in guest houses in the campus.  The group placed over 100 Bibles in rooms in the two guest houses. Other members of the group who came with chief Ige include Ayo Akinteye, Dr. Adeburu, Mr. Olorunsebi and Adewoyin Adesola.  The principal officers of the University and some Deans of faculties of Ayayi   were also present at the event.
