Dr. Bode Olofinmuagun
Dr. Bode Olofinmuagun was born in Ido – Ekiti, the headquarters of Ido/Osi Local Government of Ekiti State.
He attended Agbasa Primary School, Warri, Delta State, Central School, Okene, Kogi State and St. John’s Primary School, Ido Ekiti for his primary education between 1973 and 1979.
He proceeded to Oganganmodu Grammar School, Ido – Ekiti, Ekiti State for his secondary education in 1979 and passed out in1984.
He worked as a freelance corresspondent with the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC), Akure between January, 1986 and July,1988. He thereafter joined the services of Ido/Osi Local Government, Ido – Ekiti, first as a Clerical Officer and later, advanced to the post of a Senior Clerical Officer between August,1988 and February,1992.
During the 1991/1992 academic session, he gained admission into the then Ondo State University, Ado – Ekiti where he graduated with a B.Ed degree (Hons ) in English Language. He participated in the National Youth Service Scheme between 1997 and 1998 and was posted to Keana in Nasarawa State. In a quest to further his education, he enrolled for a Master of Public Administration degree which he obtained in 2006, Master of Arts degree in English Language (2016) and Doctor of Philosophy in English Language (2025), all from Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti. He also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja.
Dr. Bode Olofinmuagun was employed by the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission as Higher Executive Officer in January, 2001 and converted into the Information cadre as Information Officer in July, 2001. He sat for the Public Service Examination conducted by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, Lagos State and participated in the Extended and Commissioners’ interviews where he passed out in flying colours. This made him to cross into the Administrative Officers’ cadre in January, 2006. While in the Local Government Service, he transversed Ido/Osi, Ikere, Emure, Ijero and Efon Local Government Areas.
On 1st August, 2008, he was appointed as Administrative Officer 1 by Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti after participating in series of rigorous examination and interviews.
Since joining the university system, he has worked in various units and departments such as: Registrar’s Office, General Administration Department, Directorate of Personnel, Office of Research and Development, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences (as Faculty Officer), before he was seconded to head the Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs where he was in charge of the publicity and media management of Ekiti State University. He received letters of commendation for outstanding performance at various times in Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.
Dr. Olofinmuagun is a member of professional bodies such as: Association of Nigeria University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), where he served as the EKSU Branch Secretary for about ten (10) years, Association of University Administrators (AUA, UK), Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN) and the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
He has attended many conferences, seminars and workshops both nationally and internationally.
Dr Olofinmuagun is married to Mrs Abimbola Olofinmuagun and the marriage is blessed with children.
